Sinaia is situated 160 km away from Bucharest. It is a tourist town in Bucegi Mountains of the Romanian Carpathians. "Peleş" Castle, built by King Carol I of Romania (1866-1914) is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe and in Romania. Formerly used as a summer residence of the kings of Romania, the castle with 160 rooms remained the most important historic edifice in Romania. Nearby there is "Pelişor" Castle, i.e. "Smaller Peleş" Castle, with 99 rooms.
